Offering weekly bread sales and private orders
WEEKLY BREAD SALES - on hiatus from D.C. until 2021.
Accepting private orders in Vermont from Oct. 16 - Nov. 13 and in St. Louis from Nov. 23 - Dec. 4.
Each week's loaves are different, but all are leavened with sourdough and feature at least 50 percent local grains and 25 percent whole grains. The bread offerings are emailed in my weekly newsletter, and are for pickup at my home in Mount Pleasant. Bread orders go live on Sundays, close on Wednesdays, and are for pickup on Fridays and Saturdays unless otherwise noted.
One loaf of sourdough bread will be baked and donated to an area organization in need.
Want to plunge into the great wide world of sourdough baking? I'm happy to give you a small jar of my sourdough starter with any bread order. Please leave a small empty jar in return.
ARCADIA MOBILE MARKET - on hiatus until further notice.
Starting in August 2020, Starrs Sourdough wheat sourdough sandwich loaves will be available for purchase at the Arcadia Mobile Market. They meet the approachable loaf criteria of being more than 60 percent whole wheat, featuring six ingredients or less, coming pre-sliced, and being packaged in a plastic bag. And as part of The BreadLab Collective run by WSU's BreadLab, 10 cents of every loaf helps to fund further research into whole grain products.
